Nope, "space" followed by "Shift-Option-N" gives a greek iota... I tried other combinations, unsuccessfully. IDLE 3 (French) seems to be unusable as we use many ~ in web applications :-( Should we hope a fix soon, or leave IDLE ? Thanks,
