I do not know that Python/_tkinter/tkinter has been very well tested, certainly not on all systems, with the newish tcl/tk 8.6, as opposed to 8.5.z used for several years. There are 4 test/test_xxx files to be concerned about: something like test_tcl, test_tkinter, test_ttkxxx.
