In gmail New interface: There should be a down arrow next to the trash-can right bottom of posting-screen Click the down-arrow. YOu should see a 'choose text-only' option Old interface: When posting a new message, right at the top next to all the formatting icons is a text-only link -- http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-list
