Hi,
it is probably not worth it for such simple replacement, but just to
add another possibility to the already mentioned methods - you can use
regular expression replacement:

>>> import re
>>> re.sub(r"^.*\n", "", "abc\ndef\nghi")
'def\nghi'
>>>
