I did provide Language Shootout link in the next paragraph of the post you referred to along with an obligatory caution about interpreting benchmarks. The Language Shootout is a general enough benchmark to cover all popular languages not just comparing between Perl/Python/Ruby/Tcl (which I said was pointless).
