[Python-mode] completion in shell

Since some time my shell completion stopped working, only today I digged 
to see what's going on,
and I found that tab is bound to:
<tab>           py-shell-complete
But why is that?
Emacs -Q doesn't show this behaviour, but looking in python-mode code I 
don't see how it could happen,
any idea?
