There is no pep8 executable anymore, and the transitional package that
shipped a symlink from it to pycodestyle was dropped in 1.7.1-9 in 2020.

Fair enough.

For the benefit of people needing a clue like myself, adding a sentence to the package description like "If you are looking the pep8 program, it has been renamed to pycodestyle" would be helpful.
