When you subclass a QObject, overwrite the constructor, and forget to call super(MyClass, self).__init__(), you get this error: RuntimeError: underlying C/C++ object has been deleted However, in this case, we get it because the object has not even been created, so I think you should add another message for that (it took me some time to figure out why I was getting this error).
