Package: python-statsd Version: 2.0.1-1 Severity: grave The python-statsd package builds the contents of the wrong github repository. (Or, at the very least, it is building a different repository to the one referred to in the package description.)
Practically, this manifests as a substantial reduction in functionality, for example making it unusable for use with the Diamond metrics collection tool. (Currently unpackaged in Debian.) The upstream Homepage is reported to be: https://github.com/WoLpH/python-statsd .... which is consistent with the description provided in the package itself, as well as the description of the python module listing at: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-statsd However, the contents of the package itself originate from an unrelated repository: https://github.com/jsocol/pystatsd/ Similarly, the debian/watch file refers to: http://githubredir.debian.net/github/jsocol/pystatsd /v(.+)\.tar\.gz There is an inconsistency here. I would suggest that the WoLpH repository might be the more useful one to have packaged. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.12-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages python-statsd depends on: ii python 2.7.5-5 python-statsd recommends no packages. python-statsd suggests no packages. -- no debconf information _______________________________________________ Python-modules-team mailing list Python-modules-team@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/python-modules-team
