Hi everyone There will be another Django Girls Manchester workshop coming up soon: the evening of Friday 22nd September and all day on Saturday 23rd September (National Coding Week). Read on if you'd like to attend or can offer help as a mentor!
>From the website: > Django Girls is a non-profit organization and a community that empowers > and helps women to organize free, one-day programming workshops by > providing tools, resources and support. We are a volunteer run organization > with hundreds of people contributing to bring more amazing women into the > world of technology. We are making technology more approachable by creating > resources designed with empathy. > > During each of our events, 30-60 women build their first web application > using HTML, CSS, Python and Django. > So as usual if you are, or know of, a woman wishing to learn about web development in Python using the Django framework, or to learn about programming in general, please sign up on the website here: https://djangogirls.org/manchester/ The workshop is free of charge, but places are limited and registration closes on August 28, so don't delay! You will also need to bring your own laptop to work on. Django girls is run by volunteers. If you have any amount of technical know-how, lady or not, and can help out as a mentor getting people set up and guiding them through the tutorial, then please fill in the mentor sign-up form on the website. They'll really appreciate your help.
