I guess it is not, since we commonly develop by just setting the PYTHONPATH. Your solution would forbid the following: hg clone logilab/common hg clone logilab/astng hg clone pylint export PYTHONPATH=`pwd` ... you are all set ... We will try to make things usable with easy_install, but not to the price of our good old simple practices.
