The site is not just "down", it's been shut down: Well, that was a fun journey, but my role in it ends here. Due to server costs of both money and time, I've decided to pass on the project to anyone who wants to take it up. The source code for the server can be found here:
http://robotgame.org/static/robot.tar.gz The game was always open-sourced anyway (/brandonhsiao/rgkit on Github), so if you want to build your own server, that's cool too. You'll probably do a better job than I did. That was a fun month of my life, but I've decided to move on to other projects. The IRC channel is now down, of course, but you can still find robot gamers at /r/robotgame. Thanks in particular to everyone who hung out in the IRC channel for making the experience far more fun than I had expected.
