Ahha! You are not having a problem with Python, as such. You are having a problem with Bazaar. I tried running bazaar from source some while ago, but had to download a lot of extra modules for it, so I have gotten lazy and just use the version from the windows installer. I am now running bazaar 1.11 alongside Python 2.6 with no problems. Download from http://bazaar-vcs.org/Download
