Hi Vicky,
Thanks for your email and Sure, we have a couple of guys calling around making people aware of the IOTC, and they are asking those people to recommend a friend. After all, free tickets, why not? The guys here are are only divulging who has given names if they're asked. It certainly wouldn't make sense to say it was you when the person might not even know you! If your friend was told it was you that gave us his name (when you say you didn't give a name) then it's likely it was a mistake, so apologies for that. Hope this clarifies it for you. For the benefit of the group, this weeks ticket offer is 'one free ticket for every two purchased by your employer' - details can be found on the IOTC website http://iotc.firstport.ie <http://iotc.firstport.ie/> Students can book at 50euro for evening launch and full two day pass. We hope to see you next week. I myself received a phone call the other day as well about IOTC, I was just as surprised, but I knew Irish dev has my details. I only gave Python Ireland as an interested party, and Sean (who is the organiser in IXTC) and MickTwomey who gave a talk in the last conference. I did not divulge my friend's name to her though. Can you please clarify how this happened? If anyone got a phone call and my name was mentioned as the person who passed on your name (apart from Sean and Mick), I did not say anyone else's name.
