I've been following trunk for a while now. There are a few backwards
incompatible changes people should be aware of.

Signals changes - resulting in better performance
New forms admin
New Comments system using newforms - no ratings or karma features
anymore.

I'll be moving my new blog engine to 1.0 over the weekend once I rip
out the old comment_utils stuff. It will be nice to have a stable API.
