Would you consider using Antlr. It has a Javascript target that is cross browser. See link below http://www.antlr.org/wiki/display/ANTLR3/ANTLR3JavaScriptTarget It has the added advantage that if you ever wanted to put the logic on the server side you could just change the target to Python.
