Hi folks,

You may have remembered a mention of an event called Open Jam - a day long
hacking event in Dublin city centre. Well, we're happy to announce that it's
going ahead in at Enterprise Ireland's Eastpoint Offices on Saturday the 27th
of
March.

The idea behind Open Jam is that it will be a chilled out type of community
event - that will satisfy the need of those of you who've been clamouring for
coding brunches at the weekends over the last while.

It would be great to have as many people from the different Open Source
communities mingling on the day so we'd love to see some of you Pythonistas
being able to make it on the day - despite the late notice!

Ciao,
Declan

Important information
----------------------------------
* The layout of the rooms is pretty free flow so we can partition them as needs
be to cater for various groups that want to work together on different
projects.

* You need to sign up (costs nothing) for this event if you want to be able to
access the Internet on the day (as network access accounts need to be
provisioned in advance by Enterprise Ireland admins). You can turn up on the
day but your bits and bytes will need to find their own way into the cloud :-)

* I've setup a RubyCorner on the signup page - you're more than welcome to do
the same for Python if ye like.

* Note that the Enterprise Ireland network is more secured than your typical
cafe wifi setup. So ssh, irc and git protocols are blocked. Github works over
http (in terms of pulling down a public readonly repo at least) but I imagine
there might be issues pushing. I don't know what the deal is with BitBucket
and the like. If you need less restricted access, you can use your mobile
Internet dongle if you have one or wire up your smartphone.

* Previously we'd said that it would be a two day event but just in case
there's any confusion, it's to be a one day event - just Saturday the 27th
