Last Friday I floated the idea of a collage of python presentations. Unfortunately, I posted it too late to get people to our coffee break to discuss it.
The idea is that we could do is get 5 people to do 5 minutes each, e.g. "this is a problem I had and I solved with Python". The effect of 5 such presentations in a 30 minute slot would give a good feel for Python and maybe create an interest in finding out more. Python has a huge number of tools available for solving problems, Django, Plone, iPython, MathPlotLib, IronPython, Jython, pyUno, pygame, pyjamas, Appcelerator, buildout, amazon apis, google apis, SQL Alchemy, Beautiful Soup, etc. Maybe you have used one successfully. If you are interested in discussing this join us for a Coffee in IRC at 11am today (Monday), or email a response on this list.
