An Open Data Workshop will take place on Thurs 19th Feb to bring together
publishers and users of Open Data.

Are you interested in using Open Data, but can’t find what you’re looking
for on the national Open Data Portal data.gov.ie? Do you want to use Open
Datafrom data.gov.ie in your business, but have some concerns? Have you
ideas that on how data access could be improved? Or maybe you just want to
find out more about what Open Data is? All are welcome!

The aim of the Open Data Workshop is threefold:

a)      to raise the awareness of Open Data in Ireland,

b)      to foster a collaboration network between Open Data publishers and
users, and

c)       to cultivate an Open Data ecosystem that prioritises high-quality,
usableOpen Data.

In preparation for the Open Data Workshop, we are adding new datasets todata
.gov.ie and improving the quality of those already there. Ideas for the
roundtable-talks session, and data requests in advance of the workshop are
welcome via email to [email protected], via the Open Data Portal athttp://
data.gov.ie/feedback or on the Open Data Ireland Google Group

The Department is also conducting a survey on Ireland’s Open Data Initiative
