Hi All,

For those who have met John before, this was a sad moment for the Python
community, I'm still profoundly shocked on his passing at the end of
February.

Those who don't know who he is, he was the chair and founder of PyConUK.
He was known to be kind, welcoming and helpful to many who attended PyConUK
and EuroPython, including me and many others from Ireland. Advocating
Python and Open Source, and received an award in 2010 for his
contributions[1].

Personally, it was John and the team in PyConUK who inspired and encouraged
me to jump into the foray of starting our first PyCon Ireland back in 2010.

There has been a few in memoriam posts of John:

If you wish to make a charitable donation in memory of John, details are on
this page: http://pyconuk.net/InMemoriam.

I wanted to share that with all of you, the community. It's a huge loss and
he is sadly missed by many who met him over the years in various events and
conferences.
