Due to a combination of bad luck (dropping laptop onto stone) and good luck (new job) I just got a clean machine. I installed in order X11 and XCode from Apple, Fink, and Darinports. Subject: [Pythonmac-SIG] Won't Install Numarray-1.1.1 or Numeric_23.6
Hi everyone,
I can't install Numarray-1.1.1 or Numeric_23.6
After typing, python setup.py install
it tells,
error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1
Here is the complete log :
running install
running build
running build_py
running build_ext
building '_numpy' extension
gcc -fno-strict-aliasing -Wno-long-double -no-cpp-precomp -mno-fused-madd -fno-common -dynamic -DNDEBUG -g -O3 -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -I/System/Library/Frameworks/vecLib.framework/Headers -IInclude -IPackages/FFT/Include -IPackages/RNG/Include -I/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.3/include/python2.3 -c Src/arrayobject.c -o build/temp.darwin-7.6.0-Power_Macintosh-2.3/Src/arrayobject.o
unable to execute gcc: No such file or directory
error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1
If anyone is aware of that problem ??!! Apart from that python seems to mork pretty well...
Thanks in advance.
