I just downloaded and ran the two recommended 10.4 Python installers.
I noticed two things:
1. The readme for the 2.4.1 installer says it's for Mac OS X 10.3.
It should say 10.3 and 10.4.
2. The IDLE app is bit hard to find, being in
/Applications/MacPython-2.4/, along with a bunch of other (dead or
dying?) apps, like PythonIDE and PackageManager.
These problems should be addressed in the 2.4.2 release.
