I don't think there's any particular problem with 8.4.10--I never had 
any problems with IDLE crashing with a Python 2.4.x/Tk 8.4.10 
combination. Tk 8.4.10 is most likely PPC-only; could there be some 
obscure conflict between the universal Python tkinter.so and a PPC-only Tk?
