How have you been trying to access it? What happens when you try to access it?
Do you have Apple's version of X Windows installed correctly?
What happens when you run   python -c 'import Tkinter'   in Terminal?

IDLE works fine for me, though I have Python installed from Fink,
which could be a factor.
