Thanks for the other thoughts of alternative approaches, but I've 
elected to go the installer route as it flows most naturally for me and 
this application. I figured out how to automate PackageMaker: silly me, 
I thought that because I'd used py2app I'd need some python-based 
solution for getting the installer package made. PackageMaker more than 
solves the problem at hand.
