Hi Dirk, I'm developing Pytrainer on Ubuntu so I am familiar with these sorts of issues.
>> ImportError: No module named gtkmozembed >> > > Might be related to http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/pytrainer/ticket/131 ?? Installing Pytrainer from the Ubuntu repository will only satisfy all of the Pytrainer dependencies for the version of Pytrainer in the Ubuntu repository. In this case, the Pytrainer 1.8.0 version in the Ubuntu 11.10 repository is a patched version with the move from mozilla to webkit backported from pytrainer trunk. This is why the Pytrainer version is listed as "1.8.0-3ubuntu1" instead of just "1.8.0". If you want to patch Pytrainer 1.8.0 on Ubuntu 11.10 then you should work with the patched source at http://packages.ubuntu.com/source/oneiric/pytrainer As David suggested, working with Pytrainer trunk and submitting a patch is also an option. I am currently developing on Ubuntu 11.04 but have also tested that Pytrainer trunk runs on Ubuntu 11.10. >> In the INSTALL file, I found the following list of packages: > > Please notice that all package name and versions stated in INSTALL > file are related to Fedora distribution This is a major barrier to setting up Pytrainer for development. Our dependencies should be defined in a platform agnostic way - in terms of Python packages instead of Fedora packages. This is something I'm currently trying to work out a solution for. - Nathan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The demand for IT networking professionals continues to grow, and the demand for specialized networking skills is growing even more rapidly.
