I don't know if that is possible. I suggest you try asking on the Ubuntu forums.

Pytrainer can be run from source though so you should not necessarily
need to install it as a package. If you have all the entire source for
the version you are building then you can just run bin/pytrainer. It
will by default use ~/.pytrainer as the conf directory so will use the
same data as the installed version.
