No, David. Then you *completely* misunderstood my explanations ;)
I don't talk about some terminal ncurses type client to interact with.
Not at all. Just a dump out tool (like the CSV Export we already have,
but standalone). Just a command executing a script, maybe accepting some
parameters.

I really meant 'worst case scenario'. So you are able to extract
database values if everything fails. E.g. an old machine where you can't
fulfill dependencies any more. Or one wants to transfer data somewhere
else. Or development stops one day or, or ...

Yeah, I know this, had to access them often when I constructed the
elevation fix ;)

But at least 50% of all my data are gpx-less. I only use my Forerunner
on special training units or within races. Everyday runs I often add
manually. Additionally in winter I'm on a ergometer sometimes (others
use treadmills). GPX data also don't carry additional info like
equipment (shoes).

I'd like to see pytrainer as a diary or logbook for my activities.
And therefore data shouldn't be locked in (leave this to Apple or MS ;)
