Hi Arnd,

That's a good point about different speed representations for
different activity types. Perhaps it's adequate to just allow speed to
be input as either pace or velocity. Have updated the wireframe to
show this. This should be good enough for running and cycling.

You shouldn't need preferred_velocity_representation configuration
because the UI can just remember what was used last time.

If we want to satisfy other sports (for example, rowing, which
measures pace as a 500m split time) then we would need to look into
what Werner van Staden had suggested for activity types back in July.
That's out of scope for this feature though.

Trac doesn't have any discussion feature so I think it's best that the
discussion happens here and we use the wiki to document our
conclusions. Another way to narrow the audience is to start using our
forums.
