Hi Wander,

I fixed the problem. It was a weird hardware issue. I had been
investigating another issue using the Vendor's sample code which uses
ioctl() calls:-( This had slowed the sampling rate of the USB sensor I am
using. When I increased the sampling  rate the error disappeared. I suspect
the thread code was running too fast for the sensor sampling rate.
