This is known, and easy to fix. Just no one has bothered I think. There was an on-quit patch a while ago, that let you specify the behavior you wanted when quiting (including the ability to run a custom script that would tell the guest OS to shut itself down) but that was never committed. -- Infinite complexity begets infinite beauty.
