Very good!

I have 2 questions as I already tried booting the MPE/iX:

1. Is there a need to modify the current implementation of the
parisc arch to support booting a tape device, cause I am trying to
boot the file in QEMU but it seems hppa/seabios only supports disk
and cd-rom boot I think.

Yes, I think up to now it will check for SCSI disc and SCSI CD-ROM only.
SeaBIOS-hppa needs some modifications to detect and use the SCSI tape.
I can start to work on this in 1-2 weeks.

2. What is the minimal set of SCSI commands MPE/iX needs before it
can be booted in QEMU?
The firmware needs support for rewind and read only.
For now it's sufficient if you try that Linux can read from SCSI TAPE.
