Without something to stimulate the device we're not testing the designware model, nor the integration into the machine. IRQs, memory maps, as well as the model's state machine all get some coverage by having devices present. The specific devices were chosen as the existing test kernels have drivers built in. We did something similar with the aspeed arm machines when adding them to qemu. Cheers, Joel
