I came home and I tried the stuff at my desktop (I was in school in the
morning). I followed your steps Christian and I have also downloaded the
detaolb_v06.iso file. I have also changed the line in .config.I have extracted
"debug" in my working directory. If I use "debug" I have the following
message:/bin/sh: can't access tty: job control turned off. By the way, thank
you all for helping me out :)I'm trying since 8.30 am. It must work ;)(init
problem/solved!)qemu -m 32 -hda rootfs.img -kernel
linux-2.6.18.1/arch/i386/boot/bzImage -append "root=/dev/hda \clock=pit"(tty
problem)qemu -m 32 -hda rootfs.img -kernel
linux-2.6.18.1/arch/i386/boot/bzImage -initrd debug -append "root=/dev/hda
\clock=pit" Turning off tty in busybox isn't a working solution.I couldn't send
an email earlier because I had problems with
Hotmail.//*************************************************Why do I keep
getting "sh: can't access tty; job control turned off" errors? Why doesn't
Control-C work within my shell?Job control will be turned off since your shell
can not obtain a controlling terminal. This typically happens when you run your
shell on /dev/console. The kernel will not provide a controlling terminal on
the /dev/console device. Your should run your shell on a normal tty such as
tty1 or ttyS0 and everything will work perfectly. If you REALLY want your shell
to run on /dev/console, then you can hack your kernel (if you are into that
sortof thing) by changing drivers/char/tty_io.c to change the lines where it
sets "noctty = 1;" to instead set it to "0". I recommend you instead run your
shell on a real console...
