I have had success with following command: ./ppc64-softmmu/qemu-system-ppc64 -machine type=pseries,usb=off -m 512 -nographic -cdrom ../../distro/openSUSE-NET64-ppc64-Build0022-Media.iso -hda ../../imgs/guest_suse.disk Using the following server repo: http://download.opensuse.org/ports/ppc/distribution/12.2/repo/oss I havent tried SLES tough.
