To clarify on this point: I have reproduced this bug on two different ARM machines, one using KVM and one using TCG. In both cases they are ./configure'd without any special ioeventfd-related options, which appears to mean CONFIG_EVENTFD=y (in both cases). The host side reads these 4 bytes correctly and writes a 64 byte message. The guest never sees this message.
