After some browsing through search result lists, it looks similar to the issue that was reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1323758 I will try the input_* tracepoints if this does not fix it. I need some feedback from my colleague to check if it was actually fixed by the solution in the bug report on mutiple other systems.
