I might eventually reach the point where we could use:
{ 'union': 'ChardevBackend', 'data': { ...
'pty': {},
... } }
instead of needing 'pty': 'ChardevDummy'. But my current pending series
doesn't get us quite there yet, so it would be a separate cleanup anyways.
