Paolo, I am running the kvm32 machine and I see a problem. Here is the output of /proc/cpuinfo :
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic mtrr pge mca cmov constant_tsc I see something rather important missing: cpuid. A lot of stuff breaks without cpuid, and I am fairly sure that qemu is supposed to 'hard code' in support for it. It is present with both my i486 and i586 virtual machines. - Matthew
