with "earlyprintk", though I can't see any valuable difference in output.
OK, seems likely. The advantage of earlyprintk is not that the output
is different but that it arrives earlier, so if the kernel crashes
early on then you get output telling you how far it got rather than
just nothing. So I tend to always put it in my kernel command lines.
