Qemu on Windows host

I have a windows 10 host.   I have qemu 4.2.0 installed and working.
I desire to install CentOS 8 on an external USB connection.
what do I use for the -hda XXX value ?

on linux it would be /dev/sdb  - but what is it for windows ?
