Recently, Debian released their new version, Trixie. I took a backup of my VMs and started the usual "apt update; apt upgrade; apt full-upgrade" inside each guest. The upgrade went fine; however, upon restart, none of the guests come up anymore. They neither request an IP via DHCP nor respond to any command via the virsh interface besides destroying them. As there is no output and no error in the libvirt logs, I am a bit lost. I suspect the machines lock up just after GRUB comes up and initializes the kernel, but that is only a guess. This happens in two of my setups - one with an Ubuntu host and the other with a Debian Trixie host. The only thing in common: the guest is always Debian. So I wonder if there is anything specific with the Debian kernel that might cause issues with QEMU? Any help is welcome at this point. If I should provide any further information, I’ll be happy to do so.
