It wasn't related to those fixes. Nevertheless, the first issue is fixed in 30eaf192e731aeaa74780123ada445bfda971737. I cannot reproduce the second one (didn't try on Win yet).

I can confirm this, will open a new ticket.

Also, if I select all of the layers in the layer control and untick
them, not all of them untick. It seems to untick different layers each
time I do it but not all of them.
Confirmed but just on Windows, on Linux works as expected.
