Thanks for your efforts! I just tested it - unfortunately, your commit
does not solve my issue.
I also tested with a new virgin user profile to make sure there isn't
some old setting causing the troubles.
Custom widgets support is also not enabled.

Have you got the custom widgets installed? I suspect we are
seeing a
resurgence of an old issue.
