Hi Luigi ,
Thank you for your email on this important topic. Please feel free to make use of any background materials from the open letter that I send in November 2017 to RGS (UK) requesting to support open principles in Geoeducation and include Open principles in the Geography Ambassador Program . Details at http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/geoforall/2017-November/004296.html I also send an open letter in June 2015 to AAG to include Open Education principles and FOSS4G tools firmly in the ConnnectED concept to support the Advanced Placement course in Geographic Information Science and Technology (GIS&T) Details at https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/ica-osgeo-labs/2015-June/001742.html It is important to make use of free and open source tools also in geoeducation, so there is no proprietary vendor lock in and students from economically poor communities worldwide can also benefit from entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities in GIS. I am happy to volunteer any help that you need for this. Best wishes, Suchith ________________________________ From: Discuss <discuss-boun...@lists.osgeo.org> on behalf of Cameron Shorter <cameron.shor...@gmail.com> Sent: 23 October 2018 23:31 To: SERGIO ACOSTAYLARA; Luigi Pirelli; qgis-user ML; qgis-developer; OSGeo Discussions Subject: Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] Letter form to Schools, Universities and Institutions against free(as beer) licenced SW I'd like to offer my services to help write and/or review a jointly created template document which can be used across multiple regions. This happen especially in school and univerisities. Do we have best practices (e.g letter templates) describing the effect to teach proprietary GIS sw respect open/free solutions? whould be fine to have a template that could be enriched with national or regional laws. regards Luigi Pirelli ************************************************************************************************** * LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/luigipirelli * Stackexchange: http://gis.stackexchange.com/users/19667/luigi-pirelli * GitHub: https://github.com/luipir * Mastering QGIS 2nd Edition: * https://www.packtpub.com/big-data-and-business-intelligence/mastering-qgis-second-edition * Hire me: http://goo.gl/BYRQKg ************************************************************************************************** _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list disc...@lists.osgeo.org<mailto:disc...@lists.osgeo.org> https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss -- Cameron Shorter Technology Demystifier Open Technologies and Geospatial Consultant M +61 (0) 419 142 254 This message and any attachment are intended solely for the addressee and may contain confidential information.
