Hi Tim, I tried your dataset and got the same error in QGIS. Then when I tried to download the netcdf version (which sometimes works better with mesh in QGIS):

Exiting For your example, you can use probably one of these datasets (I have tried aerosols and they seem to open fine in QGIS): https://atmosphere.copernicus.eu/catalogue#/ Let me know if you have any problems.
