Jim, Haven't tested it yet, but great job: using Slax (slackware based distribution) with SlaxGIS (GIS module for slax) and adapting your QGIS1,3 (geos and proj are more recent on your built) we probably have an excellent USB live FOOS4GEO system with grass postgis,... and qgis.
