I think we do ok in this area. We now have a Facebook, Google+, and Twitter page, there is email and IRC, which are old school but work well for that reason. We also have a large share of information on gis.stackexchange.com.
After the hackfest there should be new methods to help build a better documentation base. What would you sugest to improve in this area?
