Dear all

I've done an upgrade from QGIS 1.4 to QGIS 1.7. The upgrade was performed
considering all the specifications available
at http://hub.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/wiki/Download. However, when I
start QGIS I get the following message:

--------------------------------------------------------------
Couldn't load SIP module.
Python support will be disabled.
Traceback (most recent call last):

Linux version 2.6.32-5-amd64 (Debian 2.6.32-41squeeze2) (da...@debian.org) (gcc
version 4.3.5 (Debian 4.3.5-4) ) #1 SMP Thu Mar 22 17:26:33 UTC 2012

I installed python-sip4 and python-qt4, as suggested
at http://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/ticket/779, but the error did not disappear.

The executable sip file is at /usr/bin

Any suggestion?
