this thread comes properly. as you said, in order to split a features you have to CROSS the element. if you have a polygon to be splitted at vertices, i don't understand why you have to cross it. if you set properly snapping, it's simple to draw splitting segment that snap perfectly to vertices of polygon. what do you think?
